4 Tips To Help You Launch A Fill it Forward Program On Your Campus

Are you preparing to launch a Fill it Forward program on your college or university campus? Or maybe you want to have an event to remind your students about the program on campus (a great time to do this is after the holidays in January).

Whatever your goals are, launching a successful Fill it Forward program doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Below are 4 tips for you to keep in mind when implementing a Fill it Forward program to make it as successful as possible!

When your college or university is about to engage in a Fill it Forward program launch, it’s important to outline your goals for the launch. Good goals are clear and measurable and have an expected timeframe. They help ensure that your Fill it Forward program launch team knows what they have to do. By setting goals in advance of the program launch, you can ensure that everyone will be working together toward the same outcome!

Promoting your Fill it Forward program launch is important and we want you to be loud! There are a variety of ways to do that: social media, email, signage, websites, blogs, and so much more. Check out this great post from Thompson Rivers University below:

Tabling is a great way to educate and engage your campus community/ potential users and spread the word about our Fill it Forward programs work. To help you get started, here are a few tips on how to put together a stellar tabling event at your college or university.

Choose your location – Set up your table in a high-traffic area with good visibility. If people can’t see your table from far away, they will be less likely to stop by. (For tabling on campus, this could be outside the student center or in front of the dining hall).

Include a call to action – Offer specific ways that students can take action to support the Fill it Forward program. Asking students to download the app or to take the pledge calls for their immediate action. If your tabling location has a slow Internet connection, we suggest you get students to download the app first. This way while the app is downloading you can explain the features and benefits, and then give students a Fill it Forward tag so they can take action immediately at the table.

Seek understanding– Hand out flyers on the app and/or educate staff on the Fill it Forward program so they feel comfortable explaining how the app works to others.

Have a giveaway – People are enticed by freebies and are more likely to stop by your table if they get something for doing so. Host Fill it Forward branded giveaways by offering students, staff, and faculty a chance to win a prize for downloading and scanning their Fill it Forward tag (the Cupanion team can help with this).
